Administrators, Teachers, and Staff

UUMDS has qualified staff, dedicated to providing quality care to its students. Each staff member has an exceptional love for children and enjoys teaching, entertaining, and caring for them. They are selected and assigned to specific age groups and tasks based on their unique talents, training, and experience.

Administrators

Katie Stewart (Director)
Katie has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with additional certification in Mild/Moderate Impairments and General Education from McNeese State University. Katie has experience in teaching both general and special education as well as teaching students with emotional and behavioral deficits. She also has experience as a Positive Behavior Support Program Specialist training teachers of young children with behavioral problems.
Pam Authement (Assistant Director)
Pam Authement has provided quality care to children at UUMDS for more than 30 years. Pam is currently serving as Assistant Director of UUMDS and directs its infant and toddler programs.

Teachers

Susan Daigle (Infant/Toddler Aide)
Susan Daigle provides care and assistance in our infant rooms and throughout the day school. She began working at UUMDS in 1993 and has 17 years experience caring for children in a day care setting. She has two children and two grandchildren.
Michelle Firmature (Toddler Teacher)
Michelle teaches one of our toddler classes. She has been working at UUMDS for 9 years. She is the mother of two.
Crystal Duhon (Infant Care Giver)
Crystal Duhon provides afternoon care for our youngest infants. She has worked at UUMDS for two years and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science Degree at McNeese State University in Early Childhood Education.
Cassie Sanders (Two Teacher)
Cassie Sanders provides afternoon care for our two class. She has been working at UUMDS for a year and a half. She is currently working towards her Associates Degree in Radiology and has plans to attend Medical School.
Emma Clements (Afternoon Care Giver)
Emma Clements provides care for our PreK class in the afternoons. She has worked at UUMDS for two years and has six years experience taking care of children in a day care setting.
Brittany Bushnell (Infant Teacher)
Brittany provides care for one of our infant classes in the mornings. She is currently a student at McNeese State University, studying Radiology. She has one child of her own.
Kelli Mullens (Afternoon Aide)
Julie McCarthy (Two/Three Teacher)
Joyce Ceasar (Toddler Teacher)
Joyce teaches one of our three classes. She is a recent addition to the UUMDS staff but is a knowledgeable and experienced child care worker who has worked with children for 15 years. She has two children of her own.
Holly Guidry (Toddler Afternoon Caregiver, Three Afternoon Caregiver)
Holly provides care for our toddlers in the afternoons. She is studying accounting at SOWELA Technical and Community College.
Ashley Burt (Two Afternoon Teacher)
Ashley cares for our two year-olds in the afternoons. She is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at McNeese State University. She has one child of her own.
Lindsey Ison (Twos and Threes Afternoon Teacher)
Lindsey provides care for our Twos and Threes in the afternoons. She is currently a student at McNeese State University, pursuing a career as a labor and delivery nurse.
